International Parking Institute Seeks Speakers for 2014 Conference & Expo, Planned for June 1-4 in Dallas

World's largest gathering of parking professionals provides annual forum for presentations by architects, urban planners, government officials, and others in allied industries who have applied innovative solutions to parking challenges; submission deadline for proposals is Oct. 1

FREDERICKSBURG, VA - September 10, 2013 - The International Parking Institute (IPI) is currently accepting speaking proposals for its 2014 IPI Conference & Expo, June 1-4 in Dallas. This is the largest gathering of parking professionals in the world with more than 2,500 attendees and 225 exhibitors.  IPI invites local government officials, architects, urban planners, airport executives, college facilities managers, real estate developers, and others in the parking and allied industries who have developed innovative solutions to the myriad challenges of parking.

IPI's 2014 Conference & Expo will again feature the popular "Ignite" session, where individuals present for five minutes with 20 slides that automatically advanced every 15 seconds.  Based on the inaugural session's immensely positive feedback, the sessions have expanded to include "Ignite: Parking," "Ignite: Technology" and "Ignite: Sustainability" in 2014.

"We are looking for experienced and articulate individuals willing to share their expertise and real-world practices-especially those who illustrate case studies, illuminate important issues, demonstrate how-to knowledge, and increase the professionalism of attendees," said Shawn Conrad, CAE, executive director of IPI.

"Our 'Ignite' sessions, in particular, offer a unique opportunity for speakers to deliver valuable information in a fun and entertaining way.  They provide a great forum for engaging, high-energy, multi-tasking, industry professionals who can really inspire our attendees."

Speaking proposals will be evaluated based on overall quality, well-defined focus, timeliness of topic, practical relevancy of material, and applicability to a broad audience.  Presentations should not be supplier sales pitches; content must be based upon a relevant topic, case study, concept, or idea, and not products, services, or proprietary information.

Speakers may submit as many proposals as they would like, and all are due October 1, 2013.  No speaking fees or expense reimbursement are offered, but speakers are entitled to a 25 percent discount off full conference or daily registrations.

More information and the application is available at https://ipiconference.parking.org/ [I1] and must be submitted online.  For questions or assistance with the submission process, contact Henry Wallmeyer at wallmeyer@parking.org or 540.371.7535.
