Managing Director, Real Estate Services, Standard Parking Corporation

Michael Swartz

Mr. Swartz has been with Standard Parking since 1983.  Since 1998 he has served as Senior Vice President-Administrative Services. In that role, he oversees Standard Parking's Risk Management, Procurement and Corporate Real Estate functions.  Prior to assuming that role, he was Senior Vice President of Operations with operating responsibility for 70 parking facilities in Chicago, Boston and Seattle.

Mike has been a member of the Board of Directors of the International Parking Institute since 1997, having initially been elected to represent what were then known as "Affiliate Members".  He successfully campaigned to allow commercial operators to have their own representative on the Board of Directors of IPI, and has served in that capacity since the seat was first established in 2000.  He also drafted the IPI's Policies and Procedures during the reorganization in 2006, as well as chairing the Golf Tournament for the past 12 years.

Mike received his A.B. degree in 1969 from Colgate University with a major in economics, and his M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1971 with a major in finance.  He and his wife Penny live in Deerfield, Illinois, where Mike has served as Chairman of the Planning Commission for 14 years.
